Hostility in
America Part 4
Social media
is another man made ingredient and provides an anonymous platform to express hostility
without consequences; provides numerous examples of other narcissistic,
prejudice, hateful inadequate and powerless others. TV, radio, movies,
documentaries, provide prestigious models that provide examples of vengeful,
destructive and hateful behavior. In fact, we learn more about the perpetrator
than we do about the victims. The narcissistic perpetrator is glorified and
given all this attention which is a reinforcement. Shame on you media.
Also, it
seems that parenting styles have become too enmeshed, involved and too overprotective.
There has been a misinterpretation regarding the development of self-esteem,
being a buddy or friend and lack consequences for behavior for the parents.
It’s become too easy to blame or scapegoat a video game, a neighbor, a teacher,
or other adult for the child’s poor, lying or other inappropriate behavior. Thus,
the child fails to learn integrity, to control impulses; to take responsibility
and to develop the moral foundation or underpinnings for conscience development
in order to function properly in our society. Parents are failing too.
I’m not
optimistic. Please make America healthy.
